Since Dr. Nemecek’s firing, the university has stepped up its anti-GLBT stance, according to Drew Hinkle. Drew is a student who has bravely started an unauthorized GSA for Spring Arbor University. Spring Arbor University is a Christian university more closely tied to the Free Methodist Church,
HeartStrong and it’s efforts to battle restorative therapy’s attack on students in religious schools is featured in an article in the current issue of XY Magazine.
In a lengthy discussion of restorative therapy and its effects on gay youth, this article articulately portrays some of the issues presented to gay youth in these situations.
It is a very telling article although it does fail to mention that HeartStrong owns and operates www.exgay.com.
